Small Round Glass Buttons

These aren’t your grandma’s buttons!   Made using the traditional glassblowing technique called lamp work, each button is made of borosilicate glass, which is pyrex. The glass is melted and formed by hand with a torch that combines oxygen and propane and then annealed.  Annealing is a strengthening process of slowly cooling glass to relieve internal stresses by using a kiln.  It reinforces the glass to a near unbreakable durability. Buttons that are made with shanks are reinforced with a glass shank that is hot welded on.
