Adopt-A-Family Holiday Fundraiser

Earlier this year, Offhand Designs' owner Larisa was blessed with a healthy, happy, alligator-wrestling baby boy, Nathaniel. To honor the expansion of the Offhand Designs family, we reached out to help some less fortunate families within our community, but we couldn't have done it alone. Thank you so much to all of you who

Adopt-A-Family Program

Fundraising Goal:
To raise $2,500 for local
families in need.

Adopt-A-Family is a family strengthening program of Catholic Charities of the East Bay, a local charity that has provided needed social services in Northern Californian communities since 1935. The program is designed to provide a safety umbrella to families who can use a helping hand to overcome poverty. It provides the unique opportunity to work with a local family and truly make a difference in their lives.

Meet our families!

Heather's Family

Single parent with two children: Jordan (2) & Adrian (9 mos).
Studying fashion design at Alameda College while working part time as a plus-size model.
Completed entrepreneur training through the Women's Initiative Program in San Francisco and is creating an online shop to sell her maternity wear designs.

Tina's Family

Single parent with two children: Donovan (4) & Garfield (11).

Received her bachelor's degree at Cal State East Bay this past spring and is now working towards a master's degree in Public Administration while working full time as a case manager.

Sharonda's Family

Fundraising Goal:
To raise $2,500 for local
families in need.

Raising two children: Imani (9) & Dmitri Jr (14), while taking care of her disabled husband.

Currently enrolled in a nursing assistant program at Heald & planning to transfer to SF State or Stanford for her RN license.

Volunteers at her youngest child's school as a conflict resolution facilitator.

San's Family

Single parent with 2 children: Victoria (4) & Tha (8).
Attending Laney College.
Was previously homeless due to a disability and children had been placed in foster care. Catholic Charities of the East Bay found housing for the family and they were reunited.
